March 23, 1990 was the release date for the Pretty Woman movie. The movie waslovedbymanyaroundthe world that it became a classic and remains just as popular today. The film was loved so much that is has become a stage play musical, as well.

The musical version has been performed around the globe in many versions but January 29, 2023 gave way for a trip to Music Hall at Fair Park Dallas, Texas. The crowd was composed of many true blue fans of the movie version and the anticipation and excitement lurked in the grand entry way, stairs, and corridors of Music Hall.

The musical was explosive, and the plot mimicked the movie so well that even the best of critics would find no deviance. In fact, in the unlikely event that someone wasn’t familiar with the film, they would leave the musical with just as clear of an understanding of the original movie version as a fan well versed. Music hall was full in fact sold out.

Pretty Woman is as iconic as any in history and remains to be fan favorite. The impact of the story remains so magnified that its influence continues to impact the film and musical industry to an infinite measure.

It was a dark cautionary portrayal of class and prostitution in Los Angeles, Calif. The film was also the first on-screen collaboration of Julia Roberts and Richard Greer. The title, Pretty Woman, that finally stuck came from the 1964 Roy Orbison song “Oh Pretty Woman”.

It has been over thirty years since Pretty Woman appeared at the movie theaters but the musical version brings the original back to life and in many ways ads to the magnificence of the original screenplay.
