Madill Public Schools welcomed Victor Salcedo on Wednesday April 5, 2023, as the newly selected Madill Public Schools Superintendent. The event occurred at the MPS administration building. It was probably obvious to the guests that Salcedo’s intention was to let folks know as much about him and about how much he loved Marshall County as he possibly could.

Salcedo was hired to replace the previous superintendent, Larry Case. Case retired after spending 41 years in education. Salcedo said he knowshehashisworkcutout for him in terms of following the previous superintendent.

“I have some really big shoes to fill of Mr. Case and to carry on what he has started will be my number one goal,” Salcedo said.

Salcedo said he understands the population explosion happening in Marshall County and will do everything he can for the incoming students. He said he can relate to how they may feel and hopes he can make the new kids feel as welcomed, comfortable, and at home as the community has made him feel.

Even though Salcedo is not from Madill, he still has past ties to the community. He played baseball against Madill when he was 18 years old and even then, Madill made him feel welcome.

Salcedo is by no means new to the education field as he has worn many hats within the education system some of those being a teacher, principle, and currently, the superintendent of the Vianne School district. He was superintendent for over 10 years.

Salcedo will take office as Madill superintendent July 1, 2023, and said that he has only known the “current Superintendant Case a couple of weeks” but he has really taken him “under his wing”. There is something special about a newcomer who has the enthusiasm and similar ambitions as Marshall County residents, but for him to say he feels right at home here is priceless.

Salcedo showed how involved he is willing to be in the community when he willingly gave out his cell phone number and said, “feel free to call or text me anytime about anything”.

It would be safe to say by the amountof folkswhocame to greet Salcedo and his wife that they are the perfect fit forthecommunityandMadill School District.
