Born in November is an unexpected gem

The Mulberry Wine bar in Tishomingo is a local favorite and it sports a giant neon sign above the bar reading Chokma. That translates to “hello” and visitors feel welcome when they enter. The venue hosted an unexpected gem, the band called Born in November.

The music was truly captivating and almost had a magical had a magical lure to it. Band members Woody and CPlus(Cliff) seemed to never miss a note. One has been playing the piano since he was three years old.

The band played multiple numberonehitsanddugdeep for some oldies including R&B top forties. Woody even wore the black- out glasses just like the world-famous Stevie Wonder and sounded eerily like him.

CPlus sported a kilt and played the keyboard almost likeitwassecondnaturewith elegant ease and perfect timing. Thetwomadeaheavenly harmony.

What really seemed to get the crowd’s attention was the way Born in November didn’t seem to mimic other bands but recreate an original masterpiece and putting their own unique flavor and talenttoit.Tomany,theband seemed to be out of nowhere but Woody and CPlus have been performing professionally over 20 years and have had many accolades including a television show.

The band also said they opened for many other bands including Nappy Roots in Joplin, Mo. Born in November is no stranger in Texoma as they have performed at many venues in southern OklahomaandNnorthTexas.

The band said they love the people in Texoma and always feel at home and welcome.

The duo said performing is cathartic.

“We love music, and it makes us happy to see people happy when we perform,” they said.

It would be safe to say that their style and sound of music did just that. Woody and CPlus also visited with fans before and after their performance, making them feel like old friends.
