The dedication of the Texoma Fire Department Station One to Jere Zimmerman occurred on September 17. Numerous people including current and former firefighters were there along with family, friends and auxiliary members.

In August, there was a fire in McBride and the firemen found themselves without any drinking water. Thankfully, the Schmidt Family broughtthemacaseofbottled water.Thefiremenwantedto say thank you. Anyone wishing to donate bottled water can contact FireChief Todd Cissell at 5805654491.

The TFD Auxiliary will meet on September 18 at 1:30 p.m. with a social gathering at 1 p.m.

The Texoma Fire District Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the Month at the Training/ Community Center located at 10978 Parkview at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be October 5, 2023. All are welcome to attend.

The Exercise/Stretching classes are on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. Cards/ Games are on the second and fourth Tuesday at 12:40 p.m. Auxiliary members are welcome to join in the fun.

For anybody interested in renting the Texoma Community Building, Contact Gayla Freeman at 580-565-4043. She will get right back with you. The cost is $75 per day and they must be a member of the Texoma Fire District to rent the building. Capacity for the building is 158.

The Lighthouse Methodist Church located at 4923 Alberta Creek Road provides an evening meal from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lighthouse Kids Program for grade school children consisting of Bible stories, crafts and games is held each Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. prior to the meal.
