Rey Gomez

Reydesel Gomez, an 18-year-old senior at Madill High School, has been a resident of the area his entire life. He actively participates in both football and soccer, showcasing his skills on the field. In his younger years, he excelled in soccer and track, earning several medals for his achievements.

Despite his successes, Gomez said he faced a significant challenge in recovering from knee surgery. However, he persevered and worked hard to overcome this obstacle. Throughout his journey, he noted his biggest inspiration has been his mom, who has consistently supported him and never missed any of his games. His dad has also been a source of inspiration, teaching him the importance of resilience and never giving up.

Gomez said he lives by the words of wisdom that there is no “right time,” only time itself, and it is important to make the most of it. He reminisced about one of his favorite memories when his soccer team became district champions, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

He expressesd his gratitude to his coaches for their guidance and support in helping him excel in sports and become the person he is today. Additionally, Gomez said he is thankful for his parents and their unwavering love, support, and assistance in his growth.

Looking towards the future, Gomez said he dreams of becoming an aviation technician. With his determination and dedication, he is sure to succeed in his chosen field.
