The Doghouse in Tishomingo hosted two tribute bands to celebrate the owner, Blake Shelton’s birthday.

There was no doubt that No Duh was an amazing start to the party on Friday, June 16. The No Doubt tribute band played to a sold-out crowd, just like Blake Nation, the Blake Shelton tribute band, did on June 17.

The sold-out shows were packed with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani fans. Some even showed their love for the celebrities by entering a look-alike contest.

Some fans consider No Duh to be the world’s best No Doubt Tribute Band and think they brought down the house.

The band did a fan favorite, “Hollaback Girl.” The excitement and energy were felt in the audience throughout the whole performance, which included high kicks and one-armed pushups by the bands lead singer Andrea Esperanza Martinez (Dre Martini).

The band had the audience on their feet from the moment they walked on the stage, some might say they went B-A-N-A-N-A-S. It was hard to tell it wasn’t actually Stefani singing.

No Duh is from California and has quite the following. They travel all over the United States.

They played No Doubt classics, which included “Spiderwebs”, “Hey Baby” and “What are you waiting for”.

Bass player Bony Yonow (a.k.a. EJ Curse) has played with Black Sabbath and Dokken. He has also jammed with Kiss. Aintso Young (a.k.a. Rodney Pino) who was not only a great drummer but quite the character with a huge joker smile painted on but his toto outfit was a unique surprise. Guitarist Tom Domee (a.k.a. Randy Simer) has played with John Tesh and currently plays for a southern California band called Copperhill. He is also an actor.

Many fans stated that No Duh has been the best entertainment The Doghouse has everhosted.Theperformance was a class act premier show. The energy and the crowd singing along was like attending a concert at the AA Center in Dallas.

No Duh had all in attendance wanting more. They stayed with the fans until the last picture was taken with them. Everyone was in agreeance that No Duh must come “Hollaback.”

Day two of Blake’s Birthday Bash started with an opening act from Emily Ryhne from Ada, Okla. She puts on quite the show herself. It was the perfect opening act since she auditioned in front of Shelton on his last season of The Voice.

The one and only Blake Nation-A Tribute to Blake Shelton took the stage and once again this would make fans take a double take. David Newton a former worship leader and his band continued the birthday celebration at The Doghouse.

They performed Shelton favorites as well as getting the crowd wound up with Kenny Loggins’ song “Footloose.” The crowd was dancing and singing.

Blake Nation includes his wife Kymber Newton (vocals), Mark Louis (Bass), David Powell (lead guitar), Phillip Walker (Keyboard), Andy Pruyn (Drummer) and David“OkieDave”Alexander (Pedal Steel). They also gave many accolades to their manager Kacie Baxely.

The real Shelton stopped in to meet them two years ago at the same celebration. Newton, Fake Blake as he calls himself, said playing at Ole Red’s Doghouse is the “biggest” and “most favorite” eventtheydo.Newtonstated, “This is our Grand Ole Opry.”

Blake Nation closed out the night by slipping of stage to put on a wig that looked like Shelton’s past mullet haircut and a cowboy hat to sing his famous song “Austin.”

Newton said he takes the gig very serious.

“It’s an honor for us to play and we don’t take it lightly,”
